Can you imagine doing the same profession for over 55 years? All jobs have daily challenges and rewards, but to stick with one job – in the same industry for 55 years – now, that person must really love what they do.
Well, we are blessed to have one of those dedicated employees work for us at Thayer Ford. His name is Joe McGee. Or, “Honest” Joe McGee as he is fondly called by his huge customer base.
Joe McGee just celebrated his 56th year in the car business this past February. That’s right – he began his career in 1958 selling the 1957 Mercury Monterey as his first car for $983.50. Although the price of that first car shocks us all, perhaps what’s even more amazing is the amount of lives he’s touched throughout the many years of working at the dealership.
If you know Joe, you know that he is a family, faith-based man striving to help the people that come in to see him each and every day. He is always willing to share life advice with anyone that will listen and continuously puts a smile on his co-workers faces.
Perhaps, we can all learn a little something from Joe. Do what you love to the best of your ability and strive to make a difference in people’s lives every day.
Thank you, Joe for the countless customers that you have helped throughout the years. We look forward to the years to come!
